Dianella begins at the neck edge with a provisional cast on. Back sleeves and bodice are worked flat in one piece from neck to underarm then placed on waste yarn or spare needle while front and sleeves are also worked flat to underarm. Front and back are then joined and body is worked in the round with A-line shaping.

Minimal finishing includes seaming sleeve underarms and picking up stitches to work ribbing around sleeves and neck.
