Welcome!

Here I have my Dinosaur Blanket pattern. I was inspired to make this pattern since my next door neighbour has a little boy and is obsessed with them. He helped me pick the colours and it turned out so well. He was one happy little boy!

About this pattern:

  • It is made up of 5 pieces with a border added at the end with a final size of approximately 34” x 34”. However, if you would like the final size to be bigger, just use a larger hook.

  • There are 4 stitches that you will need to know, chain stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, and bobble stitch.

  • This pattern suggests at least 11 colours that can be customised to your own colour choices.

I used the following in Stylecraft Special DK:

-White 1294 yards,
-Black 23 yards,
-Apple 146 yards,
-Matador 7 yards,
-Turquoise 431 yards,
-Silver 63 yards,
-Camel 80 yards,
-Sunshine 152 yards,
-Cream 10 yards,
-Kelly Green 166 yards,
-Lipstick 225 yards.

  • There are many colour changes - YouTube support video

  • There are two types of instructions, following coloured charts and written row-by-row.

  • The written instructions are ONLY used for the colour counts and does not state where the bobble stitches are, therefore, you need to use the chart to see where to place the bobbles.

  • Crochet Level - I have labelled this as intermediate to advanced because of the amount of bobbles there are in this blanket.
