Dinosaur Hat and Mittens Set
This dinosaur hat and mitten set knitting pattern makes the hat that a certain kind of child would wear every single day if you let them, with the matching mittens to go with it.
The Dinosaur Hat and Mitten Set is a trapper-style hat with knitted ear flaps and a row of spikes along the crown, paired with fingerless mittens and full mittens, each carrying their own spikes along the back of the hand.
All three pieces are worked in the round in DK yarn, in three sizes to fit children aged 1 to 11 years.
Designed by Jane Burns, with 18 years of experience creating exclusive baby and children’s knitting patterns. Simple to follow, lovely to make, and a real pleasure to give.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow throughout. The spikes are knitted flat and joined into a chain before sewing on, which makes placing them much simpler than it sounds. A confident beginner pattern that knits up quickly and gives a result children actually point at.
A lovely choice for a birthday, a Christmas stocking, or simply because the child in question is very clearly a dinosaur person.
