Disco Stitches Sampler
A fun introduction to some of the most easy and popular crochet stitches. All in one scarf!
Materials
4mm (US G-6) crochet hook.
Hayfield Spirit DK 100g/345m/377yds, 80% Acrylic, 20% Wool Yarn A Meadow (0434) x 1 ball.
Stylecraft Life DK (100g/298m) / (100g/325m/355yds) (75% Acrylic, 25% Wool) Yarn B Parchment x 1 ball.
Yarn needle.
Stitch markers (optional but useful).
This scarf is designed so there is little to no leftovers of the suggested yarns.
Or, make a stash busting version with 4x50g balls of Yarnsmiths Merino DK in Oatmeal and yarns scraps in the contrast colours of your choice (I used ten shades of CCs).
Finished Size
20cm x 190cm without fringing, 20cm x 214cm with fringing.
The pattern uses different combinations of basic stitches.
The scarf is made in two matching pieces which are sewn together in the middle to create one long scarf.
The pattern is written for using one neutral and one color-changing yarn. The stash busting version goes rogue with colour changes.
There are step by step photos and full charts that show how each section builds upon the next.
There are also accompanying photos to show how to add fringing or make tassels.
There are some links to video tutorials to demonstrate particular techniques such as join the rounds of granny squares, alternatives to chaining 3 and how to make the tassels.
