These are from Weldon’s Practical Knitter 24th series, volume 8, which was in print in 1893.
The original materials: a small quantity of pale blue Peacock fingering, and a pair of no. 15 steel needles.
4 ply works, and using needles of this size (1.75mm) the bootees are an inch and a half in the foot. Of course they could be made larger with different materials.
