This pattern was originally published in 1893 in Weldon’s Practical Knitter 24th series.
It can be knitted with sock wool (4 ply).
Instructions are for two sizes of sock, 5 or 4 inches from top to bottom, 2 1/2 or 2 inches for the length of the foot.
It is knitted in the round, with a turn for the heel.
