A must-have this season, the Dora hood keeps your head and neck warm. Dora is worked on top down in a 1x1 rib pattern. Starting with a rectangle, stitches are picked up to form the hood’s outline. This is then knitted back and forth up to the chin. A ribbed border is then knitted around the face. Finally, a band is added to tie the hood and secure it around the neck. Diagrams are provided to help you understand how to construct the hood.

To find the recommended size, measure the circumference of your head with a tape measure. The hood measures 40 / 42 / 44 cm in width from one end to the other of the front panels that frame the face. Choose the size that best corresponds to your measurement and the desired width, whether you want it to extend further forward or further into the front of your face. In the photos, I am wearing a size 1 for a head circumference of 56 cm.

Gauge with 1/1 rib pattern: 10X10 cm = 30 sts X 31 rows with a 4 mm needle.

Materials: stitch marker, row counter.
Suggested yarn: Drops Flora + Drops Kid silk (2 strands held together).
100 / 100 / 100 g of Drops Flora (50 g = 210 m) knitted together with 50 / 50 / 75 g of Drops Kid Silk (25 g = 200 m).

FRANCAIS

Must have de la saison, la capuche Dora garde tête et cou au chaud. Dora est travaillé de haut en bas dans un motif côtes 1/1. Depuis un rectangle, des mailles sont relevées pour former le pourtour de la capuche. Celle-ci est ensuite tricotée en aller-retour jusqu’au menton. Un bord côte est ensuite tricoté autour du visage. Enfin ne bande vient s’ajouter afin de pouvoir nouer la capuche et entourer le cou. Des schémas vous sont donnés pour vous aider à comprendre la construction de la capuche.

Pour connaitre la taille conseillée, mesurez avec un mètre ruban la circonférence de votre tour de tête. La capuche fait, en largeur, d’un bout à l’autre des devants qui entourent le visage, 40 / 42 / 44 cm. Choisissez la taille qui se rapporte le plus à la mesure que vous avez obtenue et à la largeur que vous souhaitez lui donner, plus ou moins avancé sur le devant du visage. Je porte sur les photos une taille 1 pour un tour de tête de 56 cm.
