The beautiful color patterns on this reversible shawl are achieved by working with alternating colors and using the “double point sliding technique” with alternating strands, knit every row. Double garter stitches give the shawl a very fluffy feeling, a perfect complement to the subtle color changes. The shawl is knitted from tip up, with increases on one side and straight knitting on another side, until desired size. The double point sliding technique is so called because you slide sts to the opposite end of your dpn or circular needle.

Bulky weight version (pictured in warm tones) approx. 183 cm (72″) in length x 81 m (32″) at its longest point, after blocking.
Worsted weight version (pictured in blues) approx. 198 cm (78″) in length x 89 cm (35″) at its longest point, after blocking.
Materials: Approx. 400 m (436 yds) of bulky weight yarn (12-14 sts to 10 cm/4″). Garment pictured in warm tones alternates one ball (100 m/ 109 yds per ball) each of 4 different colorways OR appox. 720 m (785 yds) of worsted weight yarn (19-20 sts to 10 cm/4″).
