Crochet two contrasting colors together and create an interesting color pattern.

This design was made with 2 mm macrame polypropilene/nylon braided cord. You can find it in haberdasheries, notions and craft supplies stores. Other similar cords as no.18 twisted nylon cord also work. Raffia, hemp and jute are suitable too. These materials are good for bags because they have great resistance and durability.

You can also crochet it with t-shirt yarn, cotton, wool or others.
