Dragonflight
Dragonflight is the companion to its fellow draconic neckwarmer, The Dragon’s Tale, here adapted to become an elegant shawl. Or perhaps, dragon wings. After all, dragons like to fly.
This shawl is designed with a fingering to DK in mind, in a deeper shape than the Dragon’s Tale scarf, and with a wider border and neatly pointed wing tips. (Buy both at once and get the Double Dragon Discount, aka 50% of the second pattern. :)
Written and charted, the pattern also includes the recipe, so you can tinker with the increase rate to make your shawl deeper or longer.
The design uses minimal lacework - each row has a single increase and decrease in each row of the border, creating the rippling, sinuous edge.
It uses a very simple integrated I cord edge, formed by slipping the first three stitches.
Length and depth are adaptable.
See my warts-and-all project page for details on yardage and resulting shawl size, from the 7 repeats of the body chart used in the sample.
