“Dreamy Blossoms” is an airy lace shawl with beautiful and intricate stitch pattern. Lace pattern evokes feelings of spring, summer and blooming flowers.
The shawl is seamless and knitted top-down from the central neck stitches to the edge. The shawl has crescent shape. The shawl is finished with a picot BO. Instructions for an alternative beaded picot BO are also included in the pattern.
The pattern is fun and really easy to knit. There are only few rows every repeat where you have to pay more attention, but all other rows are easy to knit while watching some TV. It is a very fast knit.
Instructions are both charted and written.
Finished Size:
The sample shawl in the photographs was knitted with 10 repeats of the lace pattern and after blocking was 94cm (37 inches) for the straight edge on the top of the shawl and 41cm (16 inches) for the height of the shawl at the center. You can easily make it bigger or smaller by adding or taking away pattern repeats. The shawl design is modular and border pattern can be started after desired number of the body pattern repeats is knitted. The shawls border can also be easily made larger.
Gauge:
The gauge is not critical in knitting this shawl. Adjust your needle size to suite your yarn and achieve the size and the look of the shawl of your choice.
Yarn:
420 yards (384 m) of ColourMart Silk/Cotton 36/115NM 8-ply DK weight yarn was used for the sample shawl.
The 8-ply yarn can be substituted for a sport weight (5-ply) or a fingering (4ply) weight yarn if desired.
Needles:
US 5-3.75 mm 36” (91 cm) circular needles.
