Grandchild number 4 - and of course Astrid must have her very own Christmas dress.
And while waiting for the hair to grow…also a hair-band with a big bow.
Astrid’s Christmas dress is knitted top-down in 2 different yarn qualities - first stockinette stitch with single yarn, and then the skirt worked in half Fisherman’s rib, where Silk-mohair has been added.
Materials
Cotton-cashmere from CONCEPT or similar sport weight cotton-yarn:170 yd (155 m)/50 g + Silk-mohair, lace weight: 230 yd (210 m)/25 g.
Cotton-cashmere (A): 150 / 200 / 200 / 250 / 250 g
Silk-mohair (B): 25 / 50 / 50 / 50 / 50 g
2 buttons 12 - 13 mm
Needles
24” (60 cm) circular needle size US 4 (3.5 mm)
24” (60 cm) or longer circular needle size US 7 (4.5 mm)
1 set of double pointed needles size US 4 (3.5 mm) - or use Magic loop technique on a long circular needle.
Stitch markers
Gauge
Stockinette stitch with yarn A and needle size US 4 (3.5 mm): 24 sts & 34 rows = 4” (10 cm)
Half fisherman’s rib with yarn A + B and needle size US 7 (4.5 mm): 15 sts & 32 rows = 4” (10 cm)
The measurements are after wash and blocking.
