Here are links to video demonstrations of the slipped stitch cables used in this pattern (the drop right and the drop left).
Like the feathery brush strokes of drifting clouds or the deepening colors of a perfect sunset, the allover texture of Drifting Skies combines with the subtle change of a gradient colorway in this cushy shawl.
Drifting Skies is an asymmetrical triangular shawl knit on the bias from one tip to the opposite edge. The shawl grows one stitch every row along the top edge and decreases one stitch every four rows at the bottom.
This pattern features a simple repeat and is highly customizable. Repeat the main pattern as many times as desired to use up all of one’s yarn.
Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but using a different yarn weight or needle size will affect the size of the finished shawl and the amount of yarn needed.
Instructions are both written and charted.
