Dripping Springs Cardigan
This cardigan is named after Dripping Springs, a natural spring inside Grand Canyon National Park. I visited this location on an early Spring day while day hiking with a friend. My favorite part about water in the desert is how a little bit makes everything lush and green!
This cardigan is the perfect transition from Spring to Summer, or Summer to Fall. It is lightweight and airy enough to keep you cool, but cozy enough to keep the chill away on a cool night. The design is based off the Double Crochet stitch that makes this pattern perfect for beginner crocheters, or crocheters new to garments. It also incorporates the Crossed Double Crochet stitch, which is an easy stitch for beginners to add to their crochet stitch repertoire.
Sizing
This sizing for this cardigan is customizable. It’s designed for the crocheter to create the perfect fit for the wearer. The written pattern is based off of a loose fitting Women’s S/M cardigan. However, there are instructions on how to take the correct measurements to accommodate every shape and size.
Please contact me if you need help taking the correct measurements!
Materials Needed
- Worsted Weight Yarn (I used 4 skeins of Knit Pick’s Wool of the Andes to make the S/M size. A good yarn substitute would be 3 skeins of Caron Cakes. 3 skeins should cover all sizes.)
- Crochet Hook Size J/10 (6.00mm)
- Tapestry Needle
- Measuring Tape
- Scissors
Gauge
Gauge is not overly important unless you are following the S/M pattern as listed. I suggest taking measurements and creating a cardigan based off of those to ensure proper fit.
Please contact me if you have any questions about the gauge!
