~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lichen is a truly magical thing. Two very different elements working together create an enchanting whole that is more than the sum of its parts.
Like the Old Man’s Beard that decorates this mysterious pine and juniper forest, mohair lace and cosy sock yarn combine in a clever twisted construction to create an ethereally beautiful hat that is also snug, warm, and (thanks to the insulating underlayer) absolutely itch-free.
Yarn
240 (290) m / 260 (320) yds of fingering weight yarn
300 (370) m / 330 (410) yds of laceweight mohair yarn
Choose a fingering weight yarn with a good bounce and recovery, and a fine laceweight silk mohair blend with a high silk content.
Sample uses
Fingering yarn: Fyberspates Vivacious 4-ply, (100% merino; 365 m / 399 yds per 100g skein), 1 (1) skein in colour 605 Deep Forest
Lace yarn: Habu Silk Mohair Kusa (40% silk, 60% mohair; 168 m / 187 yds per 14g ball), 2 (3) balls in colour 24 Kumasasa Ba
