Original directions call for sewing silk and fine knitting needles.
Cast on 8 stitches, knit 1 round, then follow chart III (Typensatz III) rounds 3-63.
Note: In all plain rounds, knit each double yarnover as a single stitch.
After round 64, follow chart (Typensatz) VI b Randborte, rounds 42-74. Work the triple yarnover in round 60 as purl-knit-purl in the plain round.
Round 75 is a crochet cast-off:
Take off groups of 2 or 3 knitted stitches as shown in chart VIb. and crochet chains of 3, 5, or 6 stitches between each group of knitted stitches.
The finished work can be blocked as a round or oval shape.
