DUNA includes video tutorials that ensure you don’t stand still at any time while knitting.

CONSTRUCTION:

DUNA is knit vertically, starting from the centre of the back and working out to the sleeves in the following sequence:

1.- Cast on stitches at the centre of the back and work to the edge of the neckline.
2.- Do the same for the front.
3.- Join the front and back to continue working to side seam and finish the armhole.
4.- Pick up stitches from the central lines of the front and back and continue working the second half of the garment in the same way.
5.- Finish the neckline.
6.- Finish the hem.

It is important to take a good look at all of the details of the different ways to finish the armholes/sleeves and hem offered in the pattern so that you can get a global vision of your project from the beginning.

And it’s ready! Time to find the perfect look for it.

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) covers a range of chest measurements from 80 to 140cm.

Final item measurements at the chest in cm:

96 (102, 114, 126) (140, 144, 154) cm approx. This top is designed to be worn with approximately 8 to 16cm of positive ease at the chest.

The samples shown are:

• Terracotta, size 2 with 12cm positive ease.
• Brown, size 1 with 23cm positive ease, removing 16sts from the total length.
• Ivory, size 1 with 17cm positive ease, removing 16sts from the total length.

Gauge:

In Dune stitch worked flat 10x10 cm is:

24 stitches and 45 rows before blocking.
23 stitches and 42 rows after blocking.

It is advisable to note down the measurements of your swatch before and after blocking to allow you to estimate the final measurements.

Yarn:

Fingering weight yarn 180m = 50g approx.

880 (950, 1058, 1220) (1339, 1425, 1568) m
244 (264, 294, 339) (372, 396, 436) g
5 (5, 6, 7) (7, 8, 9) skeins

These quantities are approximate. The total amount required will also depend on the type of fibre used, your gauge, or any modifications you may make to the pattern.

The samples shown used MY KNITTED CLOSET The Ultra Soft Cotton (100% cotton, 180m = 50g), colours:
Terracotta 435 (230g/828m = 4.6 skeins)
Walnut (brown) 040 (160g/576m = 3.2 skeins) Jasmine white (ivory) 010 (186g/670m = 3.7 skeins)

All three samples used less yarn than recommended because they are shorter (in particular the brown and the ivory) than the standard measurements recommended in the pattern.

Needles:

• 3 and 3.5mm circular needles with a cable of 60 or 80cm or size needed to get gauge.
• 3.5mm circular needles for working in a small circumference.

Other Materials:

• 2 different stitch markers, one for the shoulder decreases and one for the beginning of round.
• 1 locking stitch marker to mark the RS of the work.
• Smooth waste yarn of approximately the same weight as the main yarn
for the provisional cast-on.
• A long cable with a connector or other accessory to allow you to try on
the item as you go.
• A paper tag.
• A tape measure, tapestry needle, and scissors.

CONSTRUCCIÓN: muy original

DUNA se teje en vertical empezando desde el centro
de la espalda hacia las mangas con la siguiente
secuencia:

1.- Montamos en el centro de la espalda y tejemos
hasta el final del escote.
2.- Hacemos lo mismo para el delantero.
3.- Unimos delantero y espalda para seguir tejiendo el costado y remate de la sisa.
4.- Recogemos los puntos en las líneas centrales de delantero y espalda y seguimos tejiendo la otra mitad de la prenda de la misma forma.
5.- Rematamos el cuello.
6.- Rematamos la parte baja.

¡Y listo! A buscarle un bonito look.

Tallas: 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) cubre un rango de contorno de pecho de 80 a 140 cm.

Medidas finales de la prenda en el contorno de pecho:

96 (102, 114, 126) (140, 144, 154) cm aprox. Este jersey está diseñado para ser llevado con una holgura de unos 8 a 16 cm
aproximadamente en el contorno del pecho.

Los modelos de la fotografía son:

• Terracota, talla 2 con 12 cm de holgura.

Estas cantidades son aproximadas. El metraje total de hilo
empleado va a depender también del tipo de hilado, tensión o de las modificaciones que hagamos a la prenda.

Para los modelos de la fotografía hemos usado MY KNITTED
CLOSET The Ultra Soft Cotton (100% algodón, 180m = 50g),
colores:

terracota 435 (230 g = 828 m = 4.6 ovillos)
walnut (marrón) 040 (160 g = 576 m = 3.2 ovillos)

En los tres modelos de la fotografía usamos menos cantidad de
hilado del recomendado porque son más cortos (en particular el
marroncito y el marfil) que las medidas estándar que recomendamos en el patrón.

Tensión:

A punto duna abierto 10x10 cm son:

24 puntos y 45 pasadas antes del bloqueo.
23 puntos y 42 pasadas después del bloqueo.

Es aconsejable anotar las medidas de la muestra
antes y después del bloqueo, de esa forma
podremos estimar las medidas finales de la prenda.

Agujas:

• Circulares de 3 y 3.5 mm con cable de 60 u 80 cm o grosor adecuado para obtener la tensión de la muestra.
• Circulares de 3.5 mm especiales para círculo pequeño.

Otros materiales:

• 2 marcadores distintos para disminuciones de hombro e inicio de vuelta.
• 1 marcador de candado para marcar el LD de la labor.
• Hilado de deshecho del mismo grosor aproximado del que vamos a usar y que no tenga pelito para el montaje provisional.
• Cable largo con conector o cualquier útil para ir probándonos la prenda.
• Etiqueta de papel.
• Cinta métrica, aguja lanera y tijeras.
