DwaDs
I fell in love with a single sock worn by a faceless woman.
It is a painting that is beautiful in its simplicity and meaning.
Distinction with a Difference Sock (DwaDs) is my interpretation of the sock in the painting. This basic sock pattern has unique qualities that make it distinctive.
- DK weight yarn
- US 3 40” circular needles
- 2x2 round and 4x4 round stripe pattern
- Preventable jog seam
- Toe to Cuff
- I-Cord Bind Off
I used DK Twist by Life in the Long Grass (LITLG). One skein in each color and I had roughly 20-40 yards remaining in each skein. This yarn is a dream to work with.
I recently heard the phrase “appreciatory joy”. Appreciative joy is our innate ability to delight in what’s good in the present moment, independent of our circumstances or success. How fortunate that for me knitting is my appreciatory joy. Put two needles in my hand along with some amazing yarn and my shoulders go down. I am in the moment with a sense of peace.
My wish is for you to experience the same thing and not just with knitting. To feel that delight.
All the best,
Helen
