Pattern description from Knit Simple Magazine, Holiday 2006: “With a garter-stitch ‘brim’ and vivid stockinette striping, this helmet is cute as a button and snug as a bug. The earflaps are picked up and knit down, while the whole chapeau is worked back and forth and seamed up the back. White single-crochet trim completes the look. (Hats for the whole family can be found in ‘Chart Toppers,’ page 44).”

Knit Tip: “Add knitted I-cords or crocheted chains to the earflaps so your hard work doesn’t get left at the playground.”
