East Coast Line
This pattern is available individually or as part of the Scotch Knits ebook (4 patterns for 6 euros).
A traditional shawl shape.
Mosaic knitting means this is much easier than it looks. You only work with one yarn at a time, slipping the other.
There are written instructions for most of the pattern, but the colourwork is only in chart form.
The pattern is adjustable - you can use any yarn weight from fingering - aran.
Allow 400m MC and 100m CC for the smaller size (main photo)
600m MC and 150m CC for a larger version (like the one StampingJoan made).
Many thanks to the testers for their wonderful knits, helpful suggestions, yarn usage info and fabulous photos:

Note: Some of the shawls linked to this pattern were made with earlier test versions of the pattern. The construction I used for my original one had to be knitted very loosely and so some people were having trouble getting a nice shape. So, I changed the construction and now you can knit tightly or loosely - won’t change the shape.
