Easy Christmas Tree
Use these garter stitch trees to make handmade Christmas cards, hang them as decorations, or knit a tree bunting. This tree decoration is a great project for beginner knitters to try as this is knitted flat on straight needles (not in the round), and you just need to know two stitches: knit and a k2tog decrease. I decorated my tree with small pompoms, but you could sew on buttons or sequins instead.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the tree is knitted in acrylic DK yarn.
NEEDLES
A pair of 4mm single pointed knitting needles (US 6).
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; a few grammes in a Green shade
.
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, small fleece pompoms to decorate.
SIZES
One size only - 8.5cm tall.
TECHNIQUES
For beginners and above, techniques include cast on, knit, and k2tog decrease.
