This is a pattern for super easy knitted headband. It is knitted seamlessly in the round, then the piece is twisted and the ends are joined together with Kitchener stitch.

The headband is perfect for leftover fingering weight yarns and lace weight silk mohairs, but instructions for a DK weight version are provided.

Yarn
Note: The headband uses a strand of fingering weight yarn held together with a strand of lace weight yarn, but they can be substituted for a single strand of DK weight yarn. If you wish to work a DK weight version, omit all the instructions where it says “hold the yarns together” and follow only the yarn amount requirements for the fingering weight yarn.

160 m / 175 yards of fingering weight yarn such as La Bien Aimée Merino Singles (100 % merino, 366 m / 400 yards per 100 g), shown in colorway La Belle Epoque,

and 160 m / 175 yards of lace weight silk mohair such as Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (70% mohair, 30% silk; 225 m / 246 yards per 25g), shown in colorway Rose clay.

Needles
3.0 mm / US 2.5 DPNs or circular needles with a cable suitable for small circumference knitting
extra set of needles for the Kitchener stitch, same size or slightly smaller
Always use the needle size that gets you the right gauge. Note that the gauge isn’t very important in this project but differences in it might affect the size of the headband and the amount of yarn needed to finish the project.

Gauge
25 sts and 32 rounds = 10 cm / 4 inches in Stockinette stitch, in the round, slightly blocked.
