Easy Peasy Asymmetric Shawl with Eyelet Pattern

Easy Peasy is Önling’s series of basic patterns inspired by Nordic design, written in a simple and beginner-friendly language – without abbreviations. We have designed the most delicious, softest, lightest, asymmetric shawl, simple and easy to knit.

This design is the small, light shawl you will need to warm your neck when a large shawl is too hot and too obvious. It is asymmetric and features the prettiest edges and a simple eyelet pattern that will place itself on the bias when you style the shawl.

You can make it in one color or with stripes; it will be the perfect addition to your basic wardrobe. We have made it in one of our most popular yarns, Önling No 2, made from sustainably manufactured Merino wool by a small family-operated manufacturer in Northern Italy, at the foot of the Italian Alps.

Materials
150 g Önling No 2, 100% Merino Superfine Super 100’s wool, 120 m per 25 g.

The shawl is worked all the way through with one strand of the working yarn. Recommended circular needle size 41⁄2 mm / US 7.

Gauge
20 stitches and 40 rows (20 ridges) of garter stitch on needle size 41⁄2 mm / US 7 = 10 x 10 cm / 4x4 inches.
