Easy Side-to-Side Garter Scarf
From the pattern description:
Instead of knitting a scarf from one short end to the other, this scarf is knit lengthwise from side to side. Made with merino wool and kid mohair, the scarf shown here is luxuriously soft and comfy against the neck. If you plan to add a fringe - which is a good way to use up extra yarn - you can leave yarn tails, the same length as your planned fringe strands, at the beginning and end of each row, and later work them into the main fringe. You’ll eliminate the need to weave in yarn tails.
