Easy Striped Cushion Cover
At first glance, the pattern for this motif looks almost identical to my “Two Colour Solid Granny Square” …and yes, it is very similar except we are adding in some extra increases as the square gets bigger so that the fabric maintains a good density, i.e. the fabric doesn’t become see-though as the stitches stretch across the rows.
This is a great project for new crocheters as you’ll be able to really commit this most common stitch to your muscle memory!
For more experienced crocheters, this is a nice relaxing make that’s a perfect for using up odds and ends of yarn.
Size
Totally customizable, you just keep going until it fits your cushion.

Tools & Materials
The following information is a guide only, for a 60cm x60cm square made to fit my 40cm x 40cm “cushion pad”.
• DK Cotton Yarn, 300g (342m / 374yds) in 7 colours
• 3.5mm / E hook hook
• Cushion or cushion pad
• Locking stitch markers (8)
• Wool or tapestry needle.
I used leftover yarn and a piece of wadding used to insulate grocery deliveries. It’s a kind of felt made of recycled and compressed fabrics.
You can also use a purpose made seat pad or cushion.
You can use any thickness of yarn with a corresponding hook size.
Your size & yardage will depend on your personal gauge and the size of your motif.
