The Easy Tweed Beanie came to life as a way to use up my beautiful leftover partial skeins of yarn. Here was a way to combine their various powers to create a really warm and cosy hat! The tweed effect created by the simple slip stitches lets you play with colour to create a truly unique effect. I worked my three sample hats not only to show the different sizes, but also to show how the hats can look with
 One plain main colour + one variegated contrast colour (white & blue/green)
 One variegated main colour + one plain contrast colour (greens & pale blue)
 Mix and match both the main colour and the contrast colour (purples & blues)

Sizing: Small, Medium, Large.

Small: The finished beanie measures around 18 inches/46 cm in circumference (unworn) and measures 9”/22.5cm from brim to crown (green hat)

Medium: The finished beanie measures around 18.5 inches/47 cm in circumference (unworn) and measures 9.5”/24cm from brim to crown (purple hat)

Large: The finished beanie measures around 19 inches/48 cm in circumference (unworn) and measures 9.75”/26 cm from brim to crown (white hat)

The pattern is easy to work, and is ideal if you are new to colourwork, as you only work with one yarn on each row. Circular knitting needles are required as the pattern is worked in the round.

Notions required are:
Stitch marker (to show start of row)
Tapestry Needle/Knitter’s Sewing Needle (for weaving in ends)
