Pattern description: I was inspired by Lily Chin’s article in Knitter’s Spring ‘98 (K50) regarding problem solving in lace designing. I decided to design a cardigan top for summer wear. I chose a lace and simple cable pattern for the lower body. To avoid the lace pattern shaping and large see-through holes, I used a ribbing pattern for the upper body. The neck and front bands are knit in garter stitch and yarn-over rows. Yarn-over holes are used for buttonholes, The combination of lace and ribbing patterns make this cardigan elegant and modest.
The yarn is 51% viscose, 49% cotton. The needle size is 12.
