Eggplant Cardigan
This cardigan is named “Eggplant” for its purple and green colors, but it would be wonderful in a huge variety of color schemes - whatever your little girl desires! Pairs well with tomboy jeans and girly cotton dresses alike. The cardigan is knitted from the bottom up. All edges are trimmed in a contrasting color.
Make this for little boys by just changing the buttons and colors and adding a little length.
Basketweave pattern goes all around the lower bodice over the front inset pockets, around the back and sleeves.
Sizes 2 (4, 6) with finished chest measurements (buttoned): 26 (28, 30)“/66 (71, 76) cm.
Yarn: Sample used Dusty Purple (MC) 3 balls; and Dusty Green (CC) 1 ball.
Crochet chain provisional cast on is the recommended method. Use crochet hook size US J/10 (6mm).
5 buttons 3/4” diameter
miscellaneous: waste yarn, removable stitch markers, stitch holders
