Egwene's Stole
Pattern includes charts only (no written pattern).
Feel free to work a scarf or a wider stole. Pattern includes details how to calculate the number of stitches for cast on.
I used approx. 170 g Wollmeise lace yarn and got the following measurements (my fabric was a bit tighter):
stole unblocked: approx. 155 cm x 23 cm / 61” x 9”
blocked: approx. 185 cm x 35 cm / 73 “ x 14”
(measurements include borders at the end/beginning of the garment, each 2.5 cm / 1”)
Correct gauge is not essential for this project unless you are working with a limited quantity of yarn. Measurements depend on the yardage used and how strongly you block the whole garment. Depending on the amount of yarn used, you can adjust the garment size to your preference.
Pattern calls for provisional cast-on. I recommend using Judy’s Magic Cast on. Find more information about a provisional cast on method on You Tube: Judy‘s Magic Cast on (JMCO)
A big thank you to Judy Becker who gave the permission to use this cast-on method.
