El Tatio is a beautiful cardigan worked from the top down.
The cardigan features drop shoulders that create an effortless drape through the body, relaxed-fit sleeves that fall generously and emphasize the sculptural softness of the yarn. The fit is intentionally oversized, yet the slightly shorter length keeps the shape contemporary and balanced rather than heavy.

Knitting starts with the cast-on of the shoulders and the back neck. Once the short row shaped shoulder slopes are done, the back is worked flat to underarm, with a single purl-knot column running down at the center of the back. Shoulder stitches are picked up at each side separately to work each front with neck shaping, built-in button bands and texture pattern to underarm. At underarm both fronts and back are joined to work the body top down back and forth to the bottom hem. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the arm openings to work the sleeves top down in rounds to the cuffs. The beautiful, welted neck finishing is worked last.
