Eldey Cardigan is worked from the neck down in a textured pattern. The unusual construction that shapes the shoulders and forms the armholes is the point of departure for this design. Increses are made for front and back and then for the sleeves. Then the work is separated and body (with pockets) and sleeves are worked separately.

Begin by making a swatch, and adjust the needle size accordingly to ensure that you get the correct fit and that you have enough yarn for the project. Wet-block your swatch and let it dry before you measure it – the stitches do not fall properly into place until after washing.
