The mittens have a long rib border. The hand is worked in a txtured pattern while increses are made for the thumb.
The hat is equally worked in a textured pattern with a rib borden and decreases at the top.

Begin by making a swatch, and adjust the needle size accordingly to ensure that you get the correct fit and that you have enough yarn for the project. Wet-block your swatch and let it dry before you measure it – the stitches do not fall properly into place until after washing.
