Elizabeth the Dodo
Elizabeth the Dodo is a firm favourite in the menagerie here at TOFT. Standing at around 22cm tall, this woolly version of the extinct bird is in fact around the same size as its distinctive bill! The flightless yet fearless dodo stood larger than a turkey at around three feet tall and was found on the island of Mauritius before being driven to extinction by humans who discovered their home. The last recorded sighting of this magnificent bird was made in 1662.
TOFT’s Edward’s Menagerie collection is a series of crochet amigurumi toys designed by Kerry Lord. This crochet bird kit contains TOFT’s quality pure wool yarn and an easy-to-follow downloadable pattern. There are video links for all the crochet stitches and techniques used in the pattern to get you started and help you complete your toy. Share your progress with the TOFT community on Instagram @toft_uk using the #edsanimals hashtag.
