Ellie is a cute little chick dressed in her Easter best – wearing an egg and some bunny ears!

Ellie is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in English using US (American) terminology. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Ellie is 16cm tall (6 1/3 inches).

You will need:

• 2.75mm hook/C-2 (US)
• 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted, 25g in YELLOW, WHITE, PINK and BLUE, less than 25g in PURPLE and ORANGE
• BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester toy stuffing
• Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

• Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
• When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.
• Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
• Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Ellie is approx. 16cm tall (6 1/3 inches).
