Elmegade Mitts
The Elmegade Mitts blend traditional Scandinavian design with very non-traditional colour combinations to create a fun colourwork design. Work them as fingerless mitts or full mittens for extra toasty hands. Pattern is written for four sizes from child to large adult so there’s an Elmegade Mitt for everyone!

Yarn substitution
This is a great pattern for using up leftovers!
Any 4ply/sportweight yarn that is suitable for colourwork will work well - something a bit toothy works best! Jamiesons of Shetland Spindrift or Jamieson & Smith 2ply Jumper Weight would be very good.
Gauge
27st x 34rnds = 10cm over stocking stitch on larger needles. Suggest starting with 3mm.

- Gauge needles - dpns or 40cm circular
- one size smaller than gauge needles for ribbing - dpns or 40cm circular
- optional - one size larger than gauge needles for colourwork if required (more details in pattern about this option)
