It has long been on my mind to use yarn with different thickness and characteristics to create special fabric. I love the rough contrast of colors and material, the daring color changes, opposites that harmonize with each other. This is a feminine shawl that is full of life with a lovely shape that allows you to wear it as a stole on a theater night or a scarf on a darker day when you need some extra something to keep your mood happy.
To knit this pattern you don’t need much experience. It’s a great choice as your first project using lace weight yarn. But you also have to be prepared for the very long rows.
The beauty of this shawl lays in the yarn selection. You can use whatever lace yarn you prefer, but to get full effect, I suggest using fiber that has a slight halo to it. Fort the heavier weight yarn please be careful using DK weight yarn instead of light worsted or worsted. If you need to substitute, I suggest to go down a size and use sport weight yarn to avoid dense fabric. This is a feminine shawl that is full of life.
