This pattern is great for a beginner, and produces a beautiful two-sided plaid fabric. The only stitches required are chain and single crochet. The ‘keyhole’ and edging are optional, and you can make it as long as you like, with whatever yarn you like. Gauge is not important, just make sure to use a hook slightly bigger than recommended for the yarn, especially if you tend to crochet tightly.
