This easy crochet scarf uses a variation on the popular crochet moss stitch which works up faster with the half double crochet. This scarf works up quickly with easy colorwork by holding two strands of yarn together throughout, alternating between tweedy and solid color blocks.

Materials
Lion Brand Heartland yarn (100% acrylic, 5 oz/142 g, 251 yd/230 m) – 2 skeins each in 174K Joshua Tree (CA) and 125P Mammoth Cave, or approximately 390 yd (356.5 m) in each of two colors any medium weight yarn.

Prym Ergonomic 7 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge.

Yarn needle.

Stitch marker.

Gauge
13 sts (7 hdc + 6 ch-1 sp) with two strands held together = 4” (10 cm). Exact gauge is not critical for this project.
