I realised I didn’t have a washcloth pattern for knitters and thought I should put that right. They’re such fun small makes to work on between bigger projects and try out new stitches or techniques.

Make this quickly to add a romantic touch to your home décor or maybe as a gift for a loved one. As a washcloth or mat, it’s equally at home in the kitchen or bathroom. Note: I consider it too lacy to be used safely as a pot-holder.

It combines a few techniques to keep your interest, with an eyelet and cable border around the garter stitch central section and a loose, strandy contrast lace edging that I think will get your soap really foamy as well as looking pretty. The edging is added at the end and can be omitted.
