Enid the Elephant

Enid is the final free design as part of the #babyanimalCAL held during August 2021 on my Instagram page (instagram.com/carascreationsaus).
A cute, seated elephant complete with tusks, toes and a sleepy smile. Enid the Elephant is a great companion, perfect for small cuddles!
Difficulty: Intermediate, US terminology
You will need:
- 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
- 4ply yarn/fingering > less than 50g yarn in each colour: MINT, WHITE and PINK
- A pair of 8mm safety eyes
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best, I prefer cotton or cotton blend.
- When changing colour, yarn over the new colour and pull through on the stitch prior.
- For this pattern, the following yarns were used: o MINT = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 25 o PINK = Hobbii Cotton Kings 8/4 in col. 19 o WHITE = Hobbii Cotton Kings 8/4 in col. 01
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- Your tension, the yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of the finished item. My Enid the Elephant is approximately 8cm tall (3¼ inches).
- I have used safety eyes for this pattern but you may choose to embroider. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
