Have a little fun with this jaunty, elfish hat. Knit from the top down, this hat pattern is quick to knit and takes less than one ball of yarn! We’ve given you four head sizes (toddler, child, youth & adult) and two brim ideas but you’ll find this pattern is easy to adapt if you want to add your own touches.

Materials:

  • RCY Epic (100% virgin wool; 200 m/100 g per ball) or an equivalent, worsted weight yarn. 50g will work for most sizes (may need more for adult heads).
  • 4.5mm double pointed needles (dpns) and one 4.5mm, 40cm circular or size required toachieve gauge
  • 3 stitch markers

Gauge: 18 sts and 28 rows equal 10cm (4in) worked in stocking stitch, in the round.

Finished Sizes (head circumference): Toddler: 40cm/16in; Child: 45cm/18in; Youth: 50cm/20in; Adult: 55cm/22in
