This pullover is worked from the top down. The cowl neck is begun in the round, then the yoke is worked back and forth using short row shaping; when the short row shaping is complete, the yoke is joined again and worked in the round to the end. The front, back, and sleeves are worked separately back and forth to the bottom edge.

The yoke is comprised of eight panels which radiate outwards from the cowl neckline and splay across the body and arms of this pullover sweater. The graphic linework of two-color Fisherman’s Rib emphasizes the underlying geometry of the garment. Edge decreases on the body and arms counterbalance the radial increases.

Fisherman’s Rib is a very wide, vertically compressed stitch—use a needle 3–4 sizes smaller than typical for Stockinette stitch to get the best definition. To save time and to ensure accurate sizing, check gauge.
