Hat and mittens which are knitted in the round from the shaft/forehead upwards, first in rib knit and then stockinette stitch in a pattern consisting of 5 colours. The cuffs on both the hat and gloves can be folded up or worn in their full length, depending on your preference.

The pattern is inspired and named after my son Ernst who loves flowers and plants, he was nicknamed Erna by a friend when they were 3 years old. I knitted him a cardigan when he was in my belly and intuitively the pattern developed, then when he grew and became himself it turned out to fit his personality perfectly.
