Escalier Cowl
Montmartre, 130 m high, is the Right Bank hill in Paris’s 18th arrondissement. Because of its height and age (Roman ruins have been uncovered from the 2nd century), the streets swoop around, sometimes connected by steep stairs, or escaliers. To add variety to this large cowl, half of it is worked in simple, two-round stripes, while the other half will give you a steep set of Parisian stairs in mosaic stitch form, without all that climbing. Mosaic pattern is provided in both charted and written formats.
