Get your cross-crafting skills out because the Escape Bag has a sewn-in lining for stability and metal grommets to keep the drawstring from wearing down the bag. The bag’s sleek outer design pairs well with any outfit.

Finished Size 10” wide, 4” deep, and 12” tall.
Yarn Spud & Chloë Sweater (55% superwash wool, 45% organic cotton; 160 yd / 3.5 oz): #7506 toast (beige; MC), 2 skeins and #7507 moonlight (blue; CC), 1 skein. Yarn distributed by Blue Sky Fibers.
Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm): straight, 32” circular, and set of double-pointed. Size 6 (4 mm): set of double-pointed. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers; tapestry needle; sewing needle and thread; sewing machine (optional); iron; lining fabric (see Notes): 1 piece 14.5” x 30” for bag lining, 1 piece 8.5” x 11.25” to cover base stiffener, 1 piece 6.5” x 14” for interior pocket; heavyweight fusible facing (see Notes): 2 pieces 11.75 “ x 14”, 1 piece 4” x 10”; plastic mesh stiffener (see Notes): 2 pieces 4” x 10”; twelve 3/8” inside diameter grommets; grommet tools (hole cutter, insertion tool, hammer); unbleached cotton webbing strap, 2” wide x 2 yd length.
Gauge 18.5 sts and 32 rnds = 4” in Dot st on smaller needles.
Notes The bottom of this bag is worked flat starting with a provisional cast-on. Stitches are then picked up and the bag body is worked in the round. The faced lining includes a simple pocket and base stiffener.
Lining fabric, facing, and base stiffener sizes are approximate; measure your blocked knitting to confirm required amounts.
