Esker Lite
An Esker is a ridge of sediment, usually sand and gravel, resulting from the melting and flowing of glacial ice over thousands of years. These geographical ridges can run for hundreds or even thousands of kilometres in length. Here, the name Esker refers to the single row of purl bumps on the right side of the shawl.
This beginner level shawl is a one-size-fits-all, one-skein, wonder, making it perfect for those special skeins we all have stashed away.
Designed using the Great Southern Yarns 8ply (DK) SRS Merino singles, using knits, purls, and yarn overs, this shawl is a comfortable, squishy delight. It can be worn as a simple neckerchief, a scarf, or even tied as a cute little ear warmer.
Design elements: knitted flat, symmetrical triangle, yarn overs, stockinette stitch, slipped stitch edge, increases, decreases
