Directions are included for fingerless mittens, fingerless gloves, or full gloves.
Left and right gloves are identical.
While the shaping directions are given in text, the cable pattern is given only chart form.
You should have some experience with cables and be very comfortable with double pointed needles.
I had an inquiry about why I recommend dpns when some knitters prefer other methods. My reasons are threefold:
- Fingers aren’t on very many stitches, so there would be a lot of fiddling with the long needles.
- While knitting a finger, other stitches are left on hold. If a dpn is used as a holder, there is no fuss with moving the stitches on and off other tools.
- Every time there is a cable row, it is necessary to rearrange which stitches are on each needle. This would be more of a hassle on long circulars than on dpn.
Of course people should use the method they prefer!
