Use 3.5mm / U.S. 4 needle as a starting point for swatching.

Pattern notes
After a few rounds of beaded rib, the body of the hat is worked in three shades from a chart following the slipped stitch and star pattern. Decreases shape the crown, and a pompom is added (if desired).
