Esther Blouse
The Esther Blouse is inspired by the streets of Mexico. The seed stitch texture mimics the stone roads commonly seen in the downtown plazas of Mexican cities. The stockinette stripes on the sides and middle of the blouse represent the smoothness of modern architecture, existing alongside historical compositions.
When I was 12 years old, I was able to take my first solo trip to visit my Mama Esther in Loreto, Mexico. My grandmother gave me tours of her city, the sea life, local music and the longstanding Missions. My Mama Esther raised me for the first couple of years of my life. It is an honor to create something to symbolize the memories I have with her.
