Esther’s Stripy Summer Top
This design is my take on a wonderful, simple, and becoming summer top with a twist. The circular design underlines and flatters the feminine shape, which is exactly why I am so fond of circular-yoke knitted tops.
It features con- trast-colored stripes, perhaps even in different yarns, which gives it somewhat a maritime look and demonstrates my fondness for stripes.
I have added extra details such as Italian cast-on and Italian bind-off. I have discovered a new yarn combination that I really love – No. 21, linen and cotton, combined with No 13, a very light accompanying strand in lambswool and cashmere. No. 13 adds sublime softness to No 21, with makes it my new summer favorite. The design is an extremely simple basic pattern that may easily be adapted and adjusted according to your wishes and needs.

The top is worked in the round from the top down. Stitches are cast on using a provisional, crochet cast-on method, to allow adjusting the size of the neck opening later. Final- ly, the yoke is divided into body and sleeves, which are finished separately.
